Nostalgia is often misunderstood in many ways. For me it’s our deep longing to live a virtuous life. But some people misinterpret it as something that help us to escape from our present moment. But the fact is if we are not able to enjoy our present moment, we will miss nostalgia also. We feel nostalgia because something inside is still human even in our busy mechanical life. It’s a reminder from inside us that once we enjoyed our life and loved something. When we listen to some melodious music or while watching nature, seasons etc, we feel an inner weightlessness and an inner raining. That’s nostalgia. It may be an inspiration for us to regain our quality and beauty of life we had once missed in our search of Lust.

Whoa! I read the whole meaning about Nostalgia and it's damage that will creep on us, so devastating it should be dealt immediately.

Jess, nostalgia is neither homesickness nor mental illness. It's our wish to return home I mean to our natural state, to live in tune with the existence.

If I’m not mistaken, it was a long time ago that it was debated that Nostalgia is a kind of sickness but eventually after so many years of arguments, laboratory test etc. then it was declared not a sickness anymore it’s just a kind of longing to be somewhere else you love most or you missed deeply. I hope this help

Thanks dear friends Jess, Ros,twang and Michaela for your kind observation. I think we can consider Nostalgia as an indication for us to check what we really love.

I think nostalgia is remembering a place or time that you enjoyed. People experience nostalgia more when their going through a rough time but good times can also bring on nostalgia.

Katie, your thinking has some significance. I think why we miss the good side by referring its meaning on dictionary? Feelings are beyond words. Enjoy if we are comfortable with it.
